BriteBox Labs Uses Medicinal Genomics’ PathoSEEK® Microbial testing safety platform

“The PathoSEEK® Microbial Safety Testing Platform is specifically designed for use on cannabis and hemp products, including flower, extracts, and a variety of infused products. The PathoSEEK platform uses qPCR technology, an established safety testing method in the food industry and medicine that has been used in several peer-reviewed studies.”

“PathoSEEK assays detect target organisms on a genetic level, searching for unique DNA sequences associated with each organism, or group of organisms. This prevents costly false positives. Conversely, research has shown culture-based methods often grow off-target organisms, leading to false positives and more pesticide usage.” -https://www.medicinalgenomics.com/microbial-test/

Plant Virus & Pathogen

Hop Latent Viroid, Lettuce Chlorosis Virus, & Cannabis Cryptic Virus Tests

It is estimated that HpLVd infects as much as 30% of ALL cannabis plants. Test your mothers and seeds before you plan your next crop!

If you noticed that your yields came in lighter than expected this year you might have an infection of Hop Latent Viroid.

Recent testing has shown that almost all sites tested for plant pathogens have come back positive for Hop Latent Viroid at an infection rate of 25-30%. Hop Latent Viroid (HpLVd) was first identified in hops, which is part of the Cannabaceae family. In cannabis plants, this disease is commonly known as dudding. It can cause stunted growth, and effect flower and trichome development. Leading to lower yields with less potency. HpLVd can be passed from plant to plant via mechanical transmission (like dirty shears.) Once a plant is infected it can pass on the viroid through cuttings and seeds. The best way to manage HpLVd is prevention. Sanitize any tools you use, before using them on different plants, to prevent transmission. Make sure you get cuttings and seeds tested before you introduce them into your grow.

We are currently running a special on tests for the 3 common cannabis viruses:

Hop Latent Viroid, Lettuce Chlorosis Virus, & Cannabis Cryptic Virus. These tests are normally $35 each. Our "buy two, get one" offer gets you all three tests for $70
